Temporary Winter Shelter/Extreme Weather Response Program


The Temporary Winter Shelter Program provides extra low barrier emergency shelter for people who are homeless, both males and females, from November 1st to March 31st.

The program is a day-day emergency shelter program.

How many spaces are available?

The program has the capacity for up to 10 spaces. 5 men’s mats and 5 women’s mats (will be adjusted for gender/trans-gender when required).

Operating hours are from 9:00pm-8:30am.

What other resources are available to registered clients?

  • Case planning
  • Referrals
  • Laundry and showers

Admissions

Registration is between 9:00pm and 11:00pm

There is no fee for the program. Shelter programs are funded by BC Housing.

Additional Resources

Gateway Support Services: Clients are eligible to access the Gateway Shelter when beds become available.

Upper Room Mission: Free meals are available Monday to Friday.

Work BC Employment Program: Clients are eligible to access the program.

Homeless Outreach Provider Program: Clients are eligible to access the program.
