The Grassroots Employment Program is a job readiness program that supports individuals with disabilities to obtain full- or part-time employment, or volunteer positions through specialized employment training, life skills, and customized employment support.
The Grassroots program aims to build confidence, challenge attitudes, and support individuals transitioning into the workforce via workshops, one-to-one job coaching, and workplace support and mediation.
Grassroots is offered to individuals who are over the age of 18 experiencing developmental, physical, and/or mental disabilities. The program provides 32 hours of job readiness workshops and 32 hours of life skills workshops designed to increase resiliency and success in the workplace, along with 8 hours of customized one-to-one employment support. Upon completion of the program participants have access to additional one-to-one employment support, work support groups based on individuals’ self-identified goals, access to a minimum of three recognized certifications, support with locating and securing employment, and additional job coaching to support and maintain employment.
