Howard House Men’s Shelter

The Howard House Men’s Shelter is funded by BC Housing to provide high barrier emergency shelter in the Vernon area for those who are absolute homeless, who may be suffering from economic downturn, addictions and/or mental health challenges.

Any homeless man over the age of 19 years of age is eligible to enter our shelter, depending on availability of space and whether certain basic criteria can be met. While staying at the shelter, residents can access life skills training, employment programs, counseling, 12-step groups, health and legal services through a community network.

Who can stay at the Men’s Shelter?

The shelter is open to men who are at least 19 years old and who are homeless, transient, or temporarily in need of accommodation. Everyone who stays at the shelter is expected to comply with all house rules.

How many spaces are available?

The Men’s Shelter has the capacity for 16 dorm beds and 8 semi private rooms.

Operating hours are: 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Registration is between 10:00am and 12:00am

There is no fee for the program. Shelter programs are funded by BC Housing.
