Transitional Housing


The Transitional Housing Program provides an affordable supportive housing program for twenty men, in single occupancy rooms.

The Transitional Housing Program is located within the Howard House Men’s Shelter. Twenty rooms are available to men who are homeless or seeking stable, interim housing. Residents are required to develop a case plan with a case manager and are supported to achieve their goals. A monthly fee is charged for participating in the program, which includes meals and sundry items. Residents are able to access all services and programs delivered through the Society. Referrals and assistance to community resources and programs is provided.

To provide a safe, welcoming, supportive and respectful living environment.

Admissions

  • Men 19 years of age or older
  • Willing and motivated to work towards stability
  • Must have a secure source of income (B.C. benefits, pension or employment)

Additional Resources

Individual Counseling: Access to specialized counseling i.e. sexual abuse, post traumatic stress disorder

Work BC Employment Program: Available to residents upon entry to the program.

Homeless Outreach Provider Program: HOP staff can assist Transitional Housing residents in finding subsidized or market rent housing in the community.
