The Addictions Recovery Program uses a harm reduction model and is therapy based. This is a residential, long term program for men who wish to make an ultimate commitment to a sober, healthy lifestyle. Men in recovery willing to participate in an honest supportive environment geared towards community.
The Addictions Recovery Program is a residential program with private rooms which accommodates 10 men. Participants attend two meetings a day throughout the week and are encouraged to attend meetings in the community as well. There is assistance in dealing with physical and mental health as well as legal issues, education, training and employment opportunities.
Men in the program must make a minimum three month commitment with a one week transition into the program. The complete program is nine months with the first three months focused on dealing with underlying issues contributing to addiction. The following three months are focused in maintaining sobriety and developing a healthy lifestyle. The final three months is the participant’s time to continue with ongoing recovery and reintegrate back into the larger community. Accommodations and all meals are included with a $95 per month comfort allowance. There is an ongoing admission process.
Individual Counseling: Access to specialized counseling i.e. sexual abuse, post traumatic stress disorder
Work BC Employment Program: Once the program is complete clients are eligible to access the employment program.
Homeless Outreach Provider Program: Once the program is complete clients are eligible to access the housing program.
