Restorative Justice Program Outline

The Restorative Justice process allows for victims and the community to voice the effects of crime while accused persons have the opportunity to repair the harm caused by their criminal behaviour. Both victim and accused receive support, healing and closure.

Resolution Agreements are tailored to the individual needs of the victim and the offender with the intention of it being a learning experience. Agreements can include financial restitution, apologies, community service, a written essay, counselling, financial donation, resume preparation, job search, or direct service to the victim.

The program is gratefully funded by the City of Nanaimo, Coast Capital Savings, United Way of Central and Northern Vancouver Island, the Province of BC, and private donations.
