Gateway Men's Shelter

The Shelter provides men emergency shelter in the downtown core area of Vernon to the absolute homeless who may be suffering from economic downturn, illiteracy, addictions or mental health challenges.

Vernon Women's Transition House

MISSION STATEMENT

WOMEN WILL LIVE WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT,

FREE FROM VIOLENCE AND ABUSE

The Vernon Women's Transition House is contracted to provide 25 beds to women and children who are seeking refuge from relationship violence.  There is supportive counseling available and advocacy and accompaniment to appointments where necessary and possible.  There is limited ability to support women outside of the Transition House.

Upper Room Mission

The Upper Room Mission offers hope to the hurting, hungry and homeless by serving meals and offering a chapel service.  We gratefully accept donations of cash, food, clothing and household goods. These are given to the needy, sold in our Thrift Store or recycled.

 

Vernon Youth Safe House

Providing a safe residential alternative for youths ages 13 - 18 who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of becoming homeless, or are at risk of being in an unsafe environment.

Services we offer:

  • Information and support
  • Referral to other services
  • Access to emergency services
  • Housing 7 days a week
  • Meals
  • Laundry
  • Life skills workshops
